All the Places I Would Go

I don’t know where I would go actually; all I really know is that I want to go to a lot of places. I know there are people who have lists and pictures of places they want to go and sites they want to see and sometimes they might even have reasons for wanting to go to these places, not me. Well that’s not totally true, what I actually mean is I know some places I really want to visit but the vast majority of places I want to visit are just a blurry image in my mind.

Why even bother, you may ask. Well the answer is real simple if you think about it, why not? One of the most popular definitions of life is that it is an adventure and sometimes adventures involve giant leaps of faith. Don’t get me wrong, I am generally a cautious person who prefers to stick to routines but in this case when you don’t really know where to go, it’s okay to be open to ideas. I don’t know where I am going to go to but I know I am going to go to a lot of places.

Starting from places where I actually know that I want to visit, Jerusalem. I read this interview about a man that started an organization dedicated to women’s empowerment and how he had gotten his inspiration from visiting a museum (or something like that) which was dedicated to all the women in the bible who had followed Jesus. I had previously never seriously considered the idea of going to Jerusalem, but after reading that interview, I just knew it was a place I had to see for myself. I have a strong feeling that it is going to turn out to be a truly remarkable experience.

So, what are the “blurry images” of other places I want to see? I want to go an art gallery and stare at paintings for a really long time, I want to go to the museums where dinosaur bones are kept and wonder about them, I want to go to an aquarium even if I have no particular interest in fishes and I want to go to cities and look at all their fancy bridges and listen to stories about how they had been built. I want to go to sporting events and scream the chants along with all the other fans, I want to go to all the restaurants that Guy Fieri visits on his shows, I want to go to an ice skating ring even if up to the point of writing this article, I have never actually seen snow.

I want to go to all these places and more. I want to see all the places I don’t even know exist and I know I’m not the only one. To all my fellow dreamers and adventurous spirits out there, hold on to your dreams because I believe they will come through and don’t ever say it’s too late. You may get to go in your 50s instead of your 20s or you may go with your five kids instead of being single as you had imagined. I guess that’s what’s cool so about adventures, they sometimes turn out differently than we plan them but if we hold on to those “blurry images”, it will turn out to the greatest memories of our lives. So I hope you don’t stop hoping like me because I want to see it all, all the places I would go and all the things I would see.
